On March 14, China Machinery & Equipment (HK) Co., Ltd. (CMEC Hong Kong), a company affiliated to CMEC, and Mattan Engineering Sdn. Bhd., a Malaysia-based company, formed a consortium to successfully sign the agreement on the EPC project of a 29MW photovoltaic power station in Johor, Malaysia. The project is jointly developed and implemented by an internal team consisting of CMEC Hong Kong and CMEC’s 5th Complete Plants Division. The Malaysia-based project is a financing one owned by ZEC Solar SDN BHD. The contract value reaches RM150 million (about US$38.8 million). Maybank, Malaysia's largest state-owned bank provides 80% of the project loan.

The project completed the financing close on March 28, 2018, and the project owner formally issued the order of commencement on March 30, 2018. It is expected that the project will be completed at the end of November 2018.

The Johor-based 29MW photovoltaic power station is a locally-financed commercial EPC project in Malaysia. It is also a collaborative project for CMEC to utilize its internal complementary advantages and capabilities, which is consistent with CMEC’s direction of local development strategy and internal collaboration in utilizing regional companies to develop projects.
